Since 1992, the Union Plus Scholarship Program has awarded more than $3 million to students of working families who want to begin or continue their post-secondary education. Over 1,900 families have benefited from our commitment to higher education. The Union Plus Scholarship Program is offered through the Union Plus Education Foundation.
UFCW members, their spouses, and their dependent children can apply for a Union Plus Scholarship, which is also available to any AFL-CIO union. Members do not have to purchase any Union Plus program product or participate in any Union Plus programs to apply for the scholarships and scholarship awards are not based upon participation in a Union Plus program.
The 2011 Union Plus Scholarship application deadline was January 31, 2011. The 2010 scholarship applications will be available again in the Spring. More information is available here.
Dear Roger Robinson,
The UFCW Local 876 Scholarship will greatly help me with my college tuition. I will be able to achieve my life-long dream of becoming a dentist.
The cost of an education for dentistry is overwhelming, but thanks to you and UFCW Local 876, the burden has been greatly reduced.
I sincerely thank you for offering this scholarship and helping fellow UFCW Local 876 members like myself in achieving our life goals and dreams to obtain a higher education that is so important to our world today.
Sincerely,
Joshua McDonald
